My homeland...New Zealand I am devastated by the tragic loss of 50 innocent lives in the Christchurch Shooting attack of unwavering hatred.
My compassionate love goes out to each one of my fellow Kiwis today.
It breaks my heart that on the significant National Day of Action Against Bullying & Violence where we were sharing empowering messages of inclusion, respect and compassion on stage with beautiful children from all nations, races and religions at a multicultural school in Wollongong, such devastatingly horrific attacks on innocent lives were happening in my homeland.
As an innocent child of 7 who witnessed the violent death of my beautiful mum, I understand how this trauma can have a major impact on your life.
Feeling lost and alone I reached out to for help, I reached out to Lifeline.
Having compassionate unbiased professionals to listen and comfort me in my hour of need was life-changing and why I chose to become a Volunteer Lifeline Crisis Telephone Counsellor myself.
If you are finding your thoughts and feelings are becoming too hard to cope with by yourself or you are unable to share your feelings with close loved ones, services such as Lifeline can be a saving grace, helping you find clarity and peace.
Today as a Mum of 2 teenagers I am also mindful of the serious impact these tragic events can have on our beautiful children and how hard it can be to explain these tragic events to them.
It is because of the increasing number of Children and Adults feeling lost and alone that we developed The Dream Guards Free App. To provide support like Lifeline, Kids Helpline and Headspace to you and your family at your fingertips. With the Dream Guards Free App, you will have direct links to amazing support services where you can digest and download resources that will help you, your children and your community navigate and overcome a crisis or to just be there to hear and comfort you.
I am completely saddened by the innocent lives lost and the pain our community is going through because of the Christchurch Shooting.
I only hope in some small way this Free App may provide some support, comfort, and peace.
